The 13 Hotel, Macau – Joana Vasconcelos

Based on our knowledge of the contemporary arts market, MG Fine Art was approached by Hong Kong banker and property developer Stephen Hung. He was seeking works by Portugese sculptor Joana Vaconcelos for the 13 Hotel in Macau which has been described as one of the world’s most opulent. MG and the artist travelled to Hong Kong to meet Mr Hung which resulted in three major sculptures being commissioned for the development. This subsequently led to MG being commissioned to address the SMART conference in Beijing on the use of art in public spaces to create memorable, interactive, inspiring and transformative public spaces.
